When it comes to home renovations, few things are as satisfying as a jaw-dropping before-and-after transformation. And when the project belongs to one of TileTown Langley’s own design pros, it’s even more special! This stunning bathroom makeover comes courtesy of Chevonne Woolley, our in-house design consultant, known for her expertise in colour and design.
When Design Challenges Arise, Don’t be Afraid to Go Niche
Chevonne set out with a bold vision: a sleek, timeless bathroom with statement tiles. Her dream feature? A horizontal niche running the shower’s back wall. But hidden plumbing and a pricey work around forced a creative pivot. The result? A vertical subway tile niche with stone shelving—a design win that added depth, brightness and practical storage!
Earthy, Modern Elegance
To match her home’s neutral palette, Chevonne chose Lakestone 12”x24” grey tiles for the walls and shower floor, creating a seamless, high-end look. Envelope cuts on the shower floor ensured proper drainage and a sleek look—the perfect mix of form and function.
She selected a 5”x5” Artisan white tile with grey undertones for the niche, tying in with the bathroom’s light countertops. Thin 1/16-inch Alabaster grout ensured the tiles remained the star of the show.
Finishing Touches
The dark-stained vanity stayed but got a refresh with new gold hardware, mirrors and vanity lights , blending old and new for an ensuite with timeless appeal.

AFTER
Tile Talent: Expert Craftsmanship by Tyler Nilsson
Chevonne partnered with Tyler Nilsson of T Line Construction, whose tile handiwork can also be seen in TileTown Langley’s showroom bathrooms (see photo below). His craftsmanship shines from the shower walls to the perfectly finished floors—plus his furry coworker, Calvin, is pretty cute too.

The Finished Look: Spa-Worthy Perfection
Every renovation comes with its share of design challenges, but sometimes the solution leads to something even better than expected. Case in point: a stunning bathroom transformation that turns a dated space into a serene, spa-like retreat where function meets elegance.
Neutral stone tiles set a calm, organic tone, beautifully contrasted by the glossy subway tiles in the niche. The interplay of textures creates depth and visual interest while maintaining a clean, cohesive look.
It’s the kind of bathroom that makes you want to light a candle, slip into your coziest robe, and enjoy a well-deserved spa moment—at least until hunger strikes (thankfully, there’s a kitchen nearby).
